ARTIFICIAL GRASS

WARRANTY

Golden SelectTM Artificial Grass is covered by a 10 year warranty against colour fade in excess of 15% scale of the original product to the original purchaser.

The following conditions apply to the warranty and may void the warranty if not followed correctly:

  • The artificial grass must be installed according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer. The owner must follow the care and maintenance guidelines.
  • If filing a warranty claim it must be submitted within 30 days of the discovery of fading or manufacturer’s defect.
  • Proof of purchase, such as a bill of sale is mandatory when requesting warranty service.
  • The manufacturer reserves the right to designate a representative to inspect the artificial grass in question and remove samples for analysis.
  • The warranty includes the replacement material, excludes labor cost and any other secondary costs.
  • The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
  • The warranty only covers artificial grass applied appropriately in a residential environment. Golden SelectTM Artificial Grass is not suitable for athletic or sport applications.

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

The warranty does not cover any damages or defects caused by:

  • Improper installation, care, or maintenance
  • Failure of the aggregate base system or the infill system.
  • Issues related to the application of adhesives or joining systems.
  • Changes resulting from the application of sand or infill, trapped dirt, matted yarns, and compression.
  • Burns, cuts, accidents, vandalism, abuse, negligence, or neglect.
  • Drainage defects or deficiency on the sub-base and/or its surrounding area.
  • Wear or abrasions caused by inadequate sub-base.
  • Use of improper footwear.
  • Application of improper cleaning materials.
  • Use of cleaning chemicals, herbicides, or pesticides.
  • Force majeure or natural disaster.

RIGID CORE HARDWOOD SPC VINYL PLANK

This product carries a limited 35 years residential warranty that is subject to the procedures, recommendations, limitations, disclaimers and exclusions mentioned herein and in the general information, installation and warranty sections of this document.

Golden Select flooring products carry a limited residential warranty, when installed in an owner occupied residential situation* (SEE NOTE AT BOTTOM OF WARRANTY), against manufacturer and workmanship defects when used under normal conditions and installed in accordance with Manufacturer’s installation instructions to the original purchaser owner of the home, as long as they continually own the home for the period of the warranty. This warranty is not transferable. Manufacturer’s warranty and liability does not extend beyond the Golden Select flooring and is limited to a maximum value of the original purchase price. Warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the Golden Select flooring at the sole option of the manufacturer. The warranty does not include labour and installation costs. This product is warranted against a single flooding event (partial or complete immersion) up to a maximum of 96 hours. Contact with water whether partial or complete immersion beyond 96 continuous hours or through multiple flooding events of any duration will void the product warranty.

Although Golden Select Engineered Hardwood has a core and edges that are treated to improve moisture resistance. Damage caused by water or any other liquids, such as swelling and bubbling, is not covered by the warranty.

This warranty does not apply to damage caused by water or moisture in the subfloor or underneath the flooring, including but not limited to damage from subfloor hydrostatic pressure (water or moisture under the floor that is transmitted to the surface through exerted pressure) or other conditions that result in water or moisture below the floor.

This warranty does not cover and specifically excludes such damages as: indentations, scratches, dents, pet damages and stains caused by normal wear and tear, sheen loss in high traffic areas, erosion, pebbles, stones, sand, all other abrasives, wet mopping, inadequate protection, insects, rot, mould, mildew, bacteria, lack of maintenance, weather conditions, fire, excessive dryness, natural disasters, excessive heat, heating and air-conditioning systems, accident, improper installation or handling, cleaning, negligence or other causes not attributed to manufacturing or workmanship defects. Failure to adhere to and follow all the manufacturer’s instructions for installation and maintenance and incorrect or insufficient maintenance. Any modification to the product other than as outlined in the manufacturer’s installation instructions will render the warranty null and void.

The warranty excludes claims due to the development of naturally occurring flaws, stresses, cracks, checking, split ends or other visual flaws within the engineered hardwood which may manifest over time, whether or not caused by age, temperature, low or high humidity, seasonal humidity changes or other natural causes. This warranty does not cover natural contraction or expansion of the floor, nor secondary damages caused by floor’s expansion or contraction where the boards were installed.

This warranty excludes changes to gloss levels.

This warranty excludes claims when adhesive or solvent material are used during installation.

This warranty excludes noises of all types (creaks, squeaks etc) emanating from the floor and/or subfloor.

This warranty excludes claims due to differences in the colour and character from display models and literature, as well as differences in colour and character from board to board.

This warranty excludes bows in boards: it is the nature of boards to bow seasonally due to changes in relative humidity and temperature.

The warranty excludes claims due to natural lightening or darkening of the engineered hardwood from exposure to light, or to areas which have not darkened due to less exposure to light than surrounding areas.

The original purchaser is responsible for correct installation, maintenance and cleaning of the Golden Select flooring in accordance with the included instructions. It is important to note that natural and stained engineered hardwoods can have colour, grain variations and natural flaws and that the manufacturer cannot guarantee exact colour matches from one piece of engineered hardwood to the next.

This warranty specifically excludes damages to floors caused by heating systems, heating ducts, heat sources and heating system components of all types other than as approved herein.

This warranty specifically excludes colour variances from one dye/batch number to another. Prior to installation, verify the colours are acceptable in their match. Co-install all batches in an evenly distributed and well mixed manner. If there is a significant color difference between different lot numbers, install each lot# in different (non-adjoining) areas that are separated by a doorway.

Golden Select warrants to the original user that its products, when in their original manufactured condition, aside from previously mentioned information and exceptions, will be free from defects and dimensional inconsistency during the warranty period when installed and used under normal residential use in accordance with the terms, installation instructions, limitations and conditions herein.

Golden Select warrants to the original user that the finish on its products will not wear through nor separate from the Golden Select flooring during the warranty period when installed and used under normal residential use in accordance with the terms, installation instructions, limitations and conditions herein.

Should your Golden Select floor fail to live up to the provisions of this warranty, Golden Select, at its sole option, to the original purchaser/home owner, will repair, replace or refinish the area it deems to quality under warranty claim at no cost to the original purchaser/home owner with the same or similar product. If the repair or replacement by a same or similar product cannot provide a reasonable and satisfactory claim resolution, Golden Select, at its sole option may elect to provide to the original purchaser/homeowner a refund of the original price of the materials only for the area Golden Select deems to qualify under the warranty claim. Labour costs are not covered by this warranty.

This warranty is the entire and sole statement of warranty for the product and replaces any and all previous warranties, written, spoken, implied or otherwise. No implied warranties exist beyond the terms and conditions of this warranty, Golden Select assumes no legal liability for any and all actual incidental and/or consequential damages, however, some states within the USA do not permit the exclusion or limitation of incidental and/or consequential damages, as such, this exclusion may not apply to you. This like all warranties gives you specific legal rights; in addition, you may also have other rights that vary from state to state or from province to province.

To file a warranty claim, submit your warranty claim in writing within the warranty period.

* NOTE: Rental units, leased properties and apartments are considered commercial properties under this warranty. The limited residential warranty does not apply to these types of properties, uses and installations. Note that Golden Select reserves the right to visit or have its agent visit the premise where the product claim originates to inspect the product in dispute and to remove samples for verification and technical analysis. Failure to provide reasonable access to the installation area or to provide requested information and/or documentation may result in denial of the claim.

All warranty claims must be made in writing to Golden Select and must include a complete copy of the original purchase receipt, installation documentation, as available and other information that may be requested by Golden Select including this warranty.

Precautionary measures: If dust level is high, avoid inhalation of wood dust by wearing the appropriate designated dust mask. Use adequate personal protective equipment to avoid dust contact with eyes and skin. Equip machine power tools with a dust collector to reduce the emission of wood dust.

ENGINEERED WPC VINYL PLANKS

WARRANTY

Golden Select Click engineered Vinyl Planks are covered by a limited warranty of 35 years for residential use and a limited warranty of 10 years for light commercial use. The stipulations of the limited residential warranty are as follows:

  • The flooring will be free of manufacturing defects.
  • The flooring surface will not wear through under normal household use.

The following conditions apply to the warranty and may void the warranty if not followed correctly:

  • The flooring must be installed according to the instructions provided.
  • If filing a warranty claim, it must be submitted within 30 days of the discovery of the damage.
  • Any damage to the wear layer must be evident and visible, measuring at least 13 cm² (2 square inches).
  • Proof of purchase, such as a bill of sale is mandatory when requesting warranty service.
  • The warranty is non-transferable.
  • The manufacturer reserves the right to designate a representative to inspect the floor in question and remove samples for analysis.
  • The warranty includes the replacement material, and excludes labor costs.

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

  • Damage due to improper installation, care, cleaning, or maintenance.
  • Use of any adhesive or solvent material during installation.
  • Installation of Click engineered Vinyl in an outdoor/exterior setting or in any type of garage.
  • Damage caused by severe impact, scratching, or cutting, fire, water damage, alterations, or any other wear or damage caused by acts of God.
  • The use of Click engineered Vinyl planks in an unheated environment such as a cottage, RV or solarium.
  • Flooring dulled by soaps, detergents, harsh chemicals, dressings, one-step cleaners or wax.
  • Damage caused by high heels, burns, cigarette burns, cuts, scratches, gouges, and indentations including damage from improper floor protectors and furniture rests; staining caused by dyes tracked from carpet, fertilizers, coal, tar, driveway sealers, oil drippings or other similar materials.
  • Problems due to moisture and/or alkalinity of the subfloor.
  • Flooring installed over unstable subfloors (particleboard, chip wood, or pressboard) or improperly prepared subfloors, and or wet/cold floor are not covered by the limited warranty.
  • Discoloration from mold or from flooding, leaking plumbing or appliances, water entering through sliding glass doors or similar conditions.
  • Discoloration by exposure to direct sunlight or heat generation.
  • Discoloration caused by the use of area rugs or floor mats. Use non-staining mats, for rubber mats will discolor the floor.

Golden Select laminate flooring is covered by a limited warranty of 35 years for residential use. The stipulations of the residential warranty are as follows:

  • The flooring will be free from manufacturing defects.
  • The decorative laminate surface will not wear through.
  • The flooring will not fade due to sunlight, UV rays or electrical light.
  • The flooring will not stain.
  • Seams will not unlock under normal use conditions.

Golden Select laminate flooring is covered by a limited warranty of 10 years for light commercial use. The stipulations of the light commercial warranty are as follows:

  • The flooring will be free from manufacturing defects.
  • The decorative laminate surface will not wear through.
  • The flooring will not fade due to sunlight, UV rays or electrical light.
  • The flooring will resist moisture due to mopping and everyday household spills for a period up to 24 hours
  • The flooring will not stain.
  • Seams will not unlock under normal use conditions.

The Golden Select commercial-use warranty is applicable to installations in the following areas without immediate access to street traffic: offices, hotel rooms and suites, hotel conference and multipurpose rooms, and retail stores.

This warranty is not applicable to installations in heavy commercial areas such as, but not limited to, airports, restaurants, bars, etc. To validate the commercial warranty, the flooring must be professionally installed following Golden Select installation guidelines and only installed in dry interior areas.

The following conditions apply to the warranty and may void the warranty if not followed correctly.

  • The flooring must be installed according to the instructions provided.
  • If filing a warranty claim it must be submitted within 30 days of the discovery of the damage.
  • Surfacewear must be evident and visible from a standing position, measuring at least 13 cm' (2 square inches). Gloss or sheen reduction is not surface wear and is not covered by the warranty.
  • Proof of purchase, such as a bill of sale is mandatory when requesting warranty service.
  • The manufacturer reserves the right to designate a representative to inspect the floor in question and remove samples for analysis.
  • Removing Flooring prior to contacting Golden Select Claim Department voids the warranty..
  • The warranty includes the replacement material, and excludes labor cost.
  • The warranty only applies to product installed indoors.
  • Upon approval of a warranty claim, Golden Select will provide the claimant with instructions on how to proceed to have the flooring repaired or replaced. The claimant has 90 days to comply with the instructions. If the claimant fails to do so within 90 days, all rights under the limited warranty are waived.

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

  • Damage due to improper installation, care, cleaning, or maintenance.
  • Damage caused by severe impact, scratching, or cutting, fire, water damage, alterations, or any other wear or damage caused by acts of God.
  • Although Golden Select laminate flooring has treated edges to improve moisture resistance, it is not waterproof. Damage caused by water or any other liquids, such as swelling and bubbling, is not covered by the warranty.
  • Slight gaps may occur between laminate planks installed over radiant heating and will not be covered by the warranty.
  • Peeling and wear in bevelled-edged products along the edge of the panels less than 5mm (3/16 in.) from the edge is not covered by the warranty.
  • The limited warranty does not apply to mouldings.
  • The warranty applies only to flooring purchased through unauthorized dealer.
  • This warranty does not cover defects caused by improper subfloor/surface preparation(proper installation is assumed to include a moisture test to ensure excessive moisture does not exist in the subfloor). A vapor barrier must be used for those on concrete subfloors, below grade level or in moisture-prone areas.
  • This warranty does not apply to damage caused by water or moisture in the subfloor or underneath the flooring, including but not limited to damage from subfloor hydrostatic pressure (water or moisture under the floor that is transmitted to the surface through exerted pressure) or other conditions that result in water or moisture below the floor.

Golden Select offers no other warranty, expressed or implied. This warranty replaces all other warranties.

WARRANTY

  • The seams of the laminate flooring will resist water penetration for a period of up to 24 hours.
  • When excessive moisture accumulates on buildings or on building materials, mold and/or mildew growth can occur. This warranty excludes damage resulting from mold and/or mildew growth due to prolonged exposure to moisture. Golden Select offers no other warranty, expressed or implied. This warranty replaces all other warranties.

MDF Wall Planks

WARRANTY

Golden Select MDF wall plank is covered by a limited warranty of 10 years for residential use. The stipulations of the residential warranty are as follows:

  • The wall plank will be free from manufacturing defects.
  • The wall plank surface will not wear through.
  • The wall plank will not fade due to sunlight, UV rays or electrical light.
  • The wall plank will not stain.
  • The wall Plank adhesive will not peel off the wall.

The following conditions apply to the warranty and may void the warranty if not followed correctly. The owner must follow the care and maintenance guidelines.

  • The MDF wall planks must be installed according to the instructions provided.
  • If filing a warranty claim, it must be submitted within 30 days of the discovery of the damage.
  • Surface wear must be evident and visible from a standing position, measuring at least 13 cm² (2 square inches).
  • Gloss or sheen reduction is not surface wear and is not covered by the warranty.
  • Proof of purchase, such as a bill of sale, is mandatory when requesting warranty service.
  • The manufacturer reserves the right to designate a representative to inspect the wall in question and remove samples for analysis.
  • Removing the MDF wall planks prior to contacting Golden Select claim department voids the warranty
  • The warranty includes the replacement material, and excludes labour cost.
  • The warranty only applies to product installed indoors
  • Upon approval of a warranty claim, Golden Select will provide the claimant with instructions on how to proceed to have the MDF wall planks repaired or replaced. The claimant has 90 days to comply with the instructions. If the claimant fails to do so within 90 days, all rights under the limited warranty are waived

  • Damage caused by water or any other liquids, such as swelling and bubbling, is not covered by the warranty.
  • The warranty applies only to the MDF wall planks purchased through an authorized dealer.
  • This warranty does not cover defects caused by improper sub wall preparation (proper installation is assumed to include a moisture test to ensure excessive moisture does not exist on the sub wall).
  • This warranty does not apply to damage caused by water or moisture on the sub wall including but not limited to damage from sub wall hydrostatic pressure (water or moisture that is transmitted to the surface through exerted pressure) or other conditions that result in water or moisture on the sub wall.
  • Golden Select offers no other warranty, expressed or implied. This warranty replaces all other warranties.


FILING A CLAIM

Any claim under the above warranty must be made within 30 days after the issue is detected by contacting Golden Select Technical Support by email at [email protected] or by telephone at 1-800-267-3183. Proof of purchase (indicating the date of purchase) must be presented to file a claim. Golden Select reserves the right to send a representative to inspect the wall and remove samples for analysis. If the claimant fails to give reasonable cooperation to the representative to inspect the MDF wall planks and remove samples, Golden Select shall be under no obligation to provide any remedies to the claimant.

*Important to note*: The owner/purchaser must inspect the colour, finish and quality before installation. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for costs incurred when a floor with visible defects has been installed.
